TUESDAY NIGHT MOVIE CLUB

On the 4th Tuesday each month you are invited to come enjoy a movie, eat some popcorn, and if you’d like, stay after for a brief discussion! It is like a book club, but you come and watch a movie instead! We will be kicking off this club with a series of bestselling documentaries. Regular attendance is not required so just come when you can! Free popcorn is sponsored by the Urbandale Library Foundation.
*November meeting will be on the 3rd Tuesday & no meeting in December.

Ciao! Bonjour! Hola! Hello! The Urbandale Library now offers Mango, an online language learning system teaching practical conversation skills for a variety of popular languages. Our engaging interactive lessons are not only fun, they are designed to increase your ability to use the language skills you develop. It’s the fast, easy and most effective way to learn to speak a foreign language! Plus it is now free through the Urbandale Public Library! Learn more and get started HERE.

EARLY LITERACY STATIONS
The library has recently acquired 2 AWE Early Literacy Stations for use in the library.  ELS is a self-contained system that includes more than forty-five educational software packages spanning seven curricular areas.  All of the Early Literacy Stations™ products are packed with top rated, fun, developmentally appropriate content that include reading, math, art, and science.  The Children’s Interface is imaginative, inviting, intuitive, and encourages exploration. Kids are drawn into the learning adventures. Stop in the Youth Services area to try out this new experience.

On the Same Page
On the Same Page, the evening book discussion group, meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm in the library Conference Room. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 15th at 7:30pm. The group will discuss Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. Pick up a copy at the library Circulation Desk while supplies last. For more information contact Carmen Epstein at 331-6764.

Brown Bag Book Club
The Brown Bag Book Club meets at lunch time on the last Tuesday and Thursday of the month from noon to 1:00pm in Meeting Room A of the library. The next meetings will be on Tuesday, September 28th and Thursday, September 30th at 12 noon. The group will discuss The Nightingales of Troy by Alice Fulton.
