Overdue Materials
Borrowers are responsible for returning materials checked out on their card by the due date. You will be restricted from borrowing any library materials or using computers if your fees exceed $10.00, or if materials are more than 5 weeks overdue. Fees are charged for each day the library is open. The card holder will be responsible for all fees.
Overdue Notice Mailing Schedule:

3 weeks after due date – Reminder notice is sent

5 weeks overdue – Replacement cost notice is sent plus $5.00 processing fee charged per item

8 weeks overdue – Pre-collection agency notice is sent

10 weeks overdue – Referral to the Collection Agency plus $25.00 (nonrefundable) fee charged
According to sections 808.12 and 714.5 of the Iowa Code, concealment of library materials or failure to return library materials constitutes theft.
