How do I

Summer Reading Clubs

The Urbandale Public Library offers several reading programs for children of all ages.  Registration for all reading clubs will begin on June 2.  All reading must be completed by July 26.  Below are descriptions of the 2008 offerings.

Book Worms
This group is for children who are being read to.  Parents this is a great way to introduce your child to the joys of reading and spend some quality time with them.

Book Catchers
Children who can read on their own can become “reading bugs”.  Pick up a log for suggestions of different types of books to read.  A painless way to try something new.

Book Hoppers
Children who are reading longer chapter books may want to try this group.  The reading log uses a BINGO format for making reading choices.  Books chosen must be 65 pages in length or longer.

Morph Into Reading
This is a new group for those who have finished 6th grade or older.  Read 500 pages over 8 weeks to be entered into the prize drawing.

Home Run Readers
This group is co-sponsored by the Iowa Cubs Baseball team.  Readers can earn 2 tickets to an I-Cubs game later in the summer by tracking the amount of time they read.
