The Urbandale Public Library Art Gallery is a collaborative partnership between the Urbandale Public Library, the Urbandale Public Art Committee and UCAN. The mission of this partnership is to encourage and facilitate public art of high aesthetic quality that celebrates the uniqueness of Urbandale, enhances the quality of life, makes art more accessible to the general public and provides diverse resources for life-long learning and enjoyment.
Want to Show in the Gallery?
The display space is limited to two-dimensional work right now, but display cases are on the wish list. The gallery has over 120 running feet of hanging space with new lighting and security. It is located at the front of the library surrounded by the public meeting rooms. This is a very high traffic area. Our plan is to have shows last a month to six weeks. These can be group shows or individual shows of artists from the metro and surrounding area. If you would like to be considered for display in this new gallery, please visit the Art Gallery website and fill out the artist inquiry form.
Dinner with the Authors
Dinner with the Authors is a rare opportunity to spend the evening with literary icons Jane Austen, Ernest Hemingway, Agatha Christie, and Mark Twain. Performances by well-known local actors will bring to life the extraordinary talent and distinctive personalities of these beloved authors. Performances will be interspersed within a catered three-course dinner. Tickets are $50, $30 of which is a tax deductible contribution to the Gallery. Tickets may be purchased until April 2 at the Library. Click here for more information about Dinner with the Authors.
