Urbandale Public Library/Art UP Close Resident Artist

 

The Library is pleased to announce the selection of  James A. Osborn as the Art UP Close Artist.  Osborn will conduct presentations and hands-on workshops at the Library and in the community from August through November.  His work will also be exhibited in the Urbandale Public Library Art Gallery from October 1 – November 1.   View his portfolio here.

His scheduled programs include:

  • August 25:  Art projects for kids at the Urbandale Public Library booth at the Sidewalk Chalk Flood
  • September 9:  Grandparents Day art project for kids, Urbandale Public Library, 2:00 PM
  • September 12:  Art program for families, Urbandale Public Library, 5:30 PM
  • October 7:  Urbandale Public Library Art Gallery reception, followed by a special screening of the movie Pollock  (2000/rated R/122 min.), 1:30 PM
  • October 18: Teen Art Program – Teens will learn about expressionist artists and techniques.  They’ll have the chance to practice those techniques by painting a t-shirt to take home, 6:00 PM.
  • November 12:  Program for adults age 18+.  Learn about and practice artistic techniques and paint on a canvas to take home, 6:00 PM.
