Storytime

The age recommendations provided for the storytime programs described below indicate the developmental level the program targets.  However, every child is different. If you’re not sure if a storytime is the right fit for your child, we encourage you to try it out.

Storytime is a fantastic opportunity to bond and share the learning experience, so caregivers should plan on attending and participating! No registration required.  Siblings welcome!

Book Babies (0-24 months): Bounce, sing, shake, and play with us at this “can’t sit still” storytime.

  • Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:00 AM
  • 1st and 3rd Saturdays at 9:30 AM

Toddler Time (2-3 years): This short-attention span storytime is full of music, stories, and rhymes.

  • Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:00 AM

Family Storytime (4+ years): Join us for fun and interactive stories to keep the whole family entertained and engaged.  Pajamas are welcome at our evening session!

  • Tuesdays at 7:00 PM
  • Wednesdays at 9:30 and 10:15 AM
  • 1st and 3rd Saturdays at 10:30 AM

Junior Series Special Programs

Our Junior series helps early learners explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) concepts through stories and hands-on activities.  Adults should expect to attend and participate with their children.

Junior Illustrators (Ages 3-7):  Children ages 3-7 will explore the work of illustrators both familiar and new.  We’ll share a short lesson including a story and a step-by-step art activity that expands on the book and/or illustration style.  Registration required.

  • 3rd Thursday of the month at 11:00 AM

Junior Scientists (Ages 3-7): Children ages 3-7 and their adults will get hands-on with a 30-minute lesson about scientific topics including stories and experiments.  Registration required.

  • 4th Thursday of the month at 11:00 AM

School-Age Special Programs

Minecraft:  Kids of all ages are encouraged to test their Minecraft skills. No registration required.

  • 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:00 PM

Homeschool Events (Ages 6-12):  Each month we’ll be exploring a different topic, from paper airplanes to genealogy.  Check the calendar to see what we’re learning about this month. Registration required.

  • 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1:00 PM

Hour of Code (Ages 6-12):  Join us for an introduction to coding for beginners!  There will be both digital and real world activities to provide an introductory experience to coding and computer science.  No previous coding necessary, but some typing skills are needed.. Space is limited, so please register each child who will participate! Adults should plan on attending and participating with kids ages 10 and under.   For ages 6 – 12, registration required.

  • 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM

Game Design from Scratch (Ages 10-14):   An 8-week course where all skill levels can use computer science and programming to create their own games!  By the end of the series, participants will have created 8 games, including a racing game, maze, more! Kids ages 10-14 will learn the basics of computer science as they work with Scratch and explore how their favorite games are created. No prior knowledge is necessary but projects are cumulative, so please plan on attending each week.  For ages 10-14, registration required.

  • Wednesdays, April 11 – May 30 at 5:30 PM

After-School Art (Ages 6-12):  We’ll create art together in a 30-minute workshop that will unleash the inner artist in your child!  Registration preferred.

  • 3rd Friday of the month at 4:00 PM
