How do I search the catalog?

  • To search the catalog, enter a word or phrase (title, author or subject) in the search box and click on the blue “Search” button
  • To limit a search by author, title or subject, click on the pull down to the left of the search box (default is “All Fields”)
  • You can also limit your search after you click on the “Search” button by choosing options in the “Limit Search Results” tab to the left of your results

How do I check my account?
Click “Log In” at the top of the catalog screen and type your library card number and your birthdate into the login box. Click on “My Account” from any page to check your account. Remember to click “Logout” when you’re done.

How to place a hold online?

  • Access the library “Catalog” and log in to your account by clicking on “Log In” at the top of the screen
  • Enter your library card number and birthdate and click on “Log In” on the small log in screen
  • Search the catalog for the item you would like to place on hold
  • Click on the blue “Place Hold” button on the right hand side of the item
  • Click on the “Place Hold(s) button on the pop up screen and then “Ok”

You will be notified by telephone or email when a hold is available. Hold items are available for pick up for approximately five days after you are notified. Items that are not checked out by the expiration date given in the notification will be removed from the hold shelf and a 50¢ fine will be charged to your account.

How do I cancel a hold?

  • Click on “My Account” once in the library catalog
  • Click on the “Holds” tab
  • Check the item(s) you would like to cancel
  • Click on the blue “Cancel Hold(s)” button at the bottom of the screen
  • On the “Cancel Holds” pop up screen, click on “Yes” to cancel the selected holds

Holds not cancelled prior to becoming available will be charged a 50¢ fine. Cancelling a hold prior to it becoming available will NOT be assessed a fine.

Can I suspend a hold while I am on vacation?
You can suspend a hold on your account. While a hold is suspended, you will retain your place on the holds waiting list. You will move up the list during the suspension time period until you reach position 1. At that time you will remain in position 1 until the end date of the suspension. The next time the item is checked in it will be assigned to you. You will be notified via e-mail or phone when the item is available for you to pick up.

How do I suspend a hold?

  • Click on “My Account
  • Click on the “Holds” tab

  • Check the item(s) you would like to suspend

  • Click on the blue “Suspend Hold(s)” button at the bottom of the screen

  • On the “Suspend Holds” pop up screen, choose the start date and end date and click on the blue “Suspend” button
