The Library offers several programs especially for teen audiences!  Teen events are intended for students ages 12-17.  Members of our Teen Advisory Group provide feedback and make recommendations on our programming to ensure our offering meets the unique needs and interests of their peers.

Teen Events in June

Laser Tag (ages 12-17):  Join the Laser Tag battle and bring your Nerf Blaster (or use ours) for an epic Nerf War! Registration and Signed Permission Slip Required

  • June 7, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Teen Tie Dye (ages 12-17): Join us to make tie dye t-shirts. The library will supply the shirts and dye! Note: Shirts will be dyed at the library and put into plastic bags, but will need to be washed at home. Registration Required

  • June 12, 5:00 – 6:30 PM

Nailed It! Teen Challenge (ages 12-17): We’ll provide the blank cookie canvas and the challenge, you try your hand at re-creating beautifully decorated baked goods! Whether you “nail it” or experience an epic frosting fail, the results will still be delicious! Registration Required

  • June 26, 6:00 – 7:30 PM

**Art from Scratch (ages 10-14):  In this 8-week course you’ll learn the basics of computer science as they work with Scratch to create animations, interactive artwork, photograph filters, and other exciting artistic projects! Registration Required.  **Please note that Art from Scratch has a different age range than most of our teen programs.

Teen Events in July

Teen DIY Soldering (ages 12 – 17): Interested in electronics and want to get “hands on” with molten metal? Learn soldering basics and develop skills you can use for electronics, robotics, coding, and other DIY projects. Registration and Signed Permission Slip Required  Note: Project may include flashing LED, please follow up with Jacque at 331-6883 with concerns or questions.  

  • July 12, 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Teen DIY Ceramic Aliens (ages 12 – 17): Design, create, and paint your own out of this world visitor from another planet, made from air dry clay. Make it eerie or cute, friendly or foe – you decide! Registration Required

  • July 17, 5:00 – 6:30 PM

Teen STEAM and Ice Cream Party (ages 12 – 17): Come for the ice cream, stay for the STEAM! We’ll have ice cream and all the toppings, plus make glow slime, help create a glow-in-the dark mural, and more!

  • July 31, 6:00 – 7:00
