FOR KIDS

Winter Scavenger Hunt, Dec 23 – Jan 4.

Drop in at the library for a Winter Scavenger Hunt.  Locate all 12 winter shapes!

Special Day! Rise and Shine, Dec. 23, 10:00 AM.

It’s a music and movement program for the preschool set! Ages 2-7.

Animals Preparing for Winter, Dec. 27, 2:00 PM.

Learn about migration, hibernation, and other ways animals survive the winter from Polk County Conservation. This science-based program is best for children ages 4 and up. No live animals will be present. (Younger children will enjoy the Ruby the Reading Panda event. See below.)

Winter Crafternoon, Dec. 30, 2 – 4 PM.

Drop-in winter crafts, while supplies last. Ages 4-12, siblings welcome.

Noon Years Eve: Dec 31, 11:00 AM.

Count down to the “noon year” with some fun at the Library! Dancing, balloons, and more!  For kids of all ages.

Rise and Shine with Overall Buddies, Jan. 2, 10:00 AM.

Join us for a special Rise and Shine featuring Overall Buddies! Singer/songwriter Lori Lynn Ahrends will perform in this sing-and-dance-along program for the preschoolers!  Ages 2-7.

Storytime with Ruby the Reading Red Panda, Jan. 6, 10:00 AM & 10:45 AM (register for one session only).

Ruby is a plush red panda who loves to read! Hear her favorite stories and meet three live animal friends from the Blank Park Zoo during this fun program! Ages 2-5.

FOR TEENS

Teen Breakout!  Jan. 2, 2:00 or 3:30 PM.

(Register for one session only, both sessions use the same puzzle.)

Experience the “Breakout Room” phenomenon! Come with friends OR make new friends among your fellow escapees and solve all the puzzles before time runs out! Ages 10-17 only. Ages 10-14 are encouraged to register for the 2:00 – 3:00 session, and ages 12-17 are encouraged to register for the 3:30 – 4:30 session.
