Weekly Virtual Programs for Kids

Join us on Zoom each week in June for a variety of programs and events.!

Pre-registration is required for each weekly event. Please register online or by calling 515-278-3945. Be sure to include an email address when you sign up, and check your email for the link the evening before the event. A new link will be sent each week.

Zoom Storytime

  • Mondays in June, 10:00 AM

 Share a story with Miss Jenny! This interactive storytime will give us a chance to see our friends, talk together, and read a few stories.  Recommended for ages 2-6, siblings welcome! Please register online or by calling 515-278-3945.

Rise and Shine

  • Wednesdays in June, 10:00 AM

Join Miss Jacque for music, movement, and FUN! We’ll do about 20 minutes of singing, dancing, rhyming, and chanting, with a story for cool-down time. Recommended for ages 2-7, siblings welcome. Please register online or by calling 515-278-3945.

Fantastic Fantasy Read Aloud

  • Mondays & Thursdays in June, 11:00 AM

Join us while we read and discuss The Dragon with a Chocolate Heart by Stephanie Burgis. Expect about 20 minutes of listening to the story, followed by 10 minutes of discussion that you can join.  For ages 6 – 10, siblings welcome.

Zoom into Reading: Kids Book Club

  • Tuesdays & Fridays in June, 2:00 PM

If you enjoy stories like How to Train Your Dragon and Percy Jackson, this book club is perfect for you! Ages 8-13 are invited to meet twice a week to connect with friends over a good book! We’ll be zooming into adventure with The Heroes Guide to Saving Your Kingdom by Christopher Healy.  At each 30 minute Zoom meeting, we’ll discuss a few chapters of the story. 

Register early and you’ll receive a free copy of the story to keep (while supplies last) and a reading schedule. Library staff will contact you to arrange a pickup time by phone.
