Join us each week for a new tale of a person who changed the world, some of whom may be new to you. We’ll share a picture book biography and give some background information about the person and the time they lived in. Parents are encouraged to listen in, as some books may inspire questions and conversations. Recommended for ages 6 – 10, siblings welcome. Please register online or by calling 515-278-3945.
Zoom into Reading: Kids Book Club
- Tuesday, September 8th & Mondays September 14th, 21st, & 28th @ 4:00 PM
Ages 8-12 are invited to meet once a week to connect with friends over a good book! For September, we’ll be reading Iowa Children’s Choice nominee You Don’t Know Everything Jilly P! by Alex Gino.
Themes: Deaf culture, faux pas/manners when interacting with Deaf people, and correcting one’s own misconceptions.
Register early and you’ll receive a free copy of the story to keep (while supplies last) and a reading schedule. Library staff will contact you to arrange a pickup time.
