The Library offers a variety of programs and special events just for teens! Events are for ages 12-17, unless otherwise noted.
All in-person programs at the Urbandale Public Library cancelled until further notice. However, we are offering virtual programs and special events! Please check our online calendar or call us at 515-278-3945 for the most current schedule and to register.
While you can’t come into the Library for programs yet, you can take some home with you. Starting in July, pick up new Craft-to-Go kits each week for school age kids and teens (while supplies last). Check our Facebook page for instructions on when and how to pick them up!
Teen Book Club
A Zoom book club just for teens! For ages 13 – 18 only.
- Mondays & Thursdays in June and July @ Noon.
June Book: Get wrapped up in Truly Devious, a mystery by Maureen Johnson!
July Book: Journey down the rabbit hole in A Blade So Black by L.L. McKinney!
Themes: Magic / Fantasy- Monster slaying- Urban setting-Friendships, dating, and familial relationships- Grief / Death of a loved one- Effects of racism
Register for the first session of each month to receive a free copy of the book that you can keep (while supplies last). Library staff will contact you by phone to arrange a time to pickup your free book.
Pre-registration is required for each weekly book club meeting. Please register online or by calling 515-278-3945. Be sure to include an email address when you sign up, and check your email for the link the evening before the event. A new link will be sent each week.
